A Gently Tilting Planet: Fall Equinox

2025

Role: Film

Media: single channel 4k video projection with surround sound

Duration: 60 minutes

A Gently Tilting Planet is a body of durational landscape video works tracing the pace at which time unfolds across the Earth’s surface. Using time-slicing, each work presents 24 hours of changing light within 60 minutes of real-time movement, allowing long durations of environmental change to remain perceptible while preserving a sense of lived time. Rather than depicting a single moment, the landscapes hold multiple temporal states within a single frame, shifting them from fixed views into durational experiences. Day, night, stillness, and activity are given equal weight; the planet is all of these things at once. The work invites viewers to experience time as something larger, slower, and shared with the Earth itself.

Sound: Cassia Streb & Tim Feeney

Premiere: TapeTail Series, Automata Theater, Los Angeles, CA

Notable Performance: Society for Women in Philosophy: Spring Salon, Los Angeles, CA
