Sound and video artists Cassia Streb and Jennifer Bewerse present a simultaneous experience of a video installation and a sound installation. Both works were created separately but deal with similar themes of how we perceive time and space.
The film component, A Gently Tilting Planet: Fall Equinox is a time-based landscape tracing the movement of light across a single day. Using time-slicing, the film assembles 24 hours of the Fall Equinox into vertical bands, each playing one hour in real time. Rather than depicting a single moment, it holds multiple temporal states within a single frame, shifting landscape from a fixed view into a durational experience.
